Indian businesses and services in Seattle, United States

Much of the Seattle area's Indian community lives east of Lake Washington. Redmond, Bellevue, Sammamish, Kirkland, Bothell and Issaquah have grown rapidly with the technology industry: in the 2020 Census about two in five residents of Redmond and Bellevue were Asian American, up from fewer than one in five in 2000. Their shopping centres now hold many of the region's Indian grocers, restaurants and sweet shops. Weekend afternoons are busiest, and the larger grocers get crowded before Diwali and Navratri.

South of the city, Kent and Renton have a Punjabi Sikh community served by several gurdwaras, and businesses along Kent's main roads serve Punjabi families. Hindu temples are spread across the Eastside and the northern suburbs, among them the Hindu Temple and Cultural Center in Bothell, and mosques serve Muslim families across the region. Most temples run longer programmes at weekends and on festival days.

Traffic on I-405 and across the lake can be heavy, so plan weekend trips with that in mind. Sound Transit's 2 Line light rail now serves parts of Bellevue and Redmond, though most South Asian shopping is easiest to reach by car. The wet season runs from autumn through spring, so Diwali and the other autumn festivals happen mostly indoors, in temples and community halls.
