H-1B visa holders won't get 60-day grace period after job loss
The US Department of Homeland Security has proposed ending the 60-day grace period for H-1B and some other temporary visa holders who lose or leave jobs. Under the plan, workers would need to leave the United States when employment ends. DHS says employers could hire Americans or file petitions; the grace period began in 2017.
