Belgian father hopes PM De Wever can help bring his daughter home from India
Father Davy De Witte is asking Prime Minister Bart De Wever to raise his six-year-old daughter Raïa’s case with India’s Narendra Modi during talks. A court recognised him as her biological and legal father and ordered contact. Her mother took Raïa to India in February 2025 before their first meeting. India is outside the Hague Convention.
Belgium strengthens military cooperation with India
Belgium and India will deepen their military cooperation as part of an approach to security that extends beyond national borders. On Thursday in New Delhi, Belgian Defence Minister Theo Francken and his Indian counterpart will sign a letter of intent. Industry organisations in the defence sector will also strengthen their exchanges and bilateral cooperation.
