Indian community events in Germany

Germanyโ€™s Indian community is the fastest-growing in Europe: Indians are now the largest group of international students in the country, and the engineers, researchers and IT specialists who followed them are concentrated around Berlinโ€™s start-ups, Munichโ€™s and Stuttgartโ€™s engineering firms, Frankfurtโ€™s banks and airport, and the Rhineland. The calendar follows them: Durga Puja and garba run by Bengali and Gujarati associations, Diwali at universities and community halls, Bollywood nights in Berlin and Munich, cricket on summer weekends, and temple festivals โ€” the Sri Kamadchi Ampal temple in Hamm, one of the largest Hindu temples in Europe, draws thousands to its annual chariot procession. Most events are in English, some in German; prices are in euros.
