Indian community events in France

France’s Indian community — around a hundred thousand people, with a far older Tamil and Pondicherry heritage — is centred on Paris: La Chapelle’s Little India by the Gare du Nord, the Sri Manicka Vinayakar temple whose Ganesh Chaturthi procession fills the 18th arrondissement every late summer, and the tech and finance workforce of La Défense and the western suburbs. The calendar is Diwali evenings and Holi in spring, Bollywood nights, classical concerts and dance, the Tamil associations’ Pongal and the universities’ societies, with smaller communities in Lyon, Toulouse and Strasbourg. Prices below are in euros; events are in French or English, with Hindi and Tamil on stage.
