Indian community events in New Zealand

New Zealand’s Indian community is close to three hundred thousand strong β€” about one in twenty New Zealanders β€” and two-thirds of it is in Auckland: Sandringham’s Little India, Mt Roskill, Papatoetoe and the eastern suburbs, with Wellington, Christchurch and Hamilton behind. The calendar runs around the Auckland Diwali Festival in Aotea Square each spring and Wellington’s on the waterfront, Navratri garba in the halls, the Fijian-Indian community’s own Ramayan and Holi celebrations, the libraries’ festival evenings and the touring Bollywood and comedy acts. Prices below are in New Zealand dollars.
