Indian community events in the United States

The United States has the largest Indian community outside India โ€” more than four million people โ€” around New York and New Jersey, the San Francisco Bay Area, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Washington, Seattle, Atlanta and Los Angeles, with Little Indias on Oak Tree Road in Edison, Devon Avenue in Chicago, Hillcroft in Houston and Pioneer Boulevard in Artesia. The calendar is the busiest anywhere: Navratri garba in school gyms every October, Diwali melas and temple festivals (Diwali is a public-school holiday in New York City), Durga Puja by the Bengali associations, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayali association shows, touring Bollywood concerts and stand-up, and cricket leagues all summer. Prices below are in dollars, and almost everything is open to everyone.
