Moving between a temporary flat and a permanent one usually means two or three suitcases and some boxes — too much for a tram, far too little for a removals firm. These are people in the community who do exactly that job, and who speak English.

Who to call

  • Bruno — moves luggage and speaks English. +32 485 45 28 16
  • Christie — call well in advance to discuss what you need. +32 484 97 35 74
  • Kumar Taxi — a well-known Indian-origin taxi operator with a small vehicle, good for suitcases and smaller items. +32 465 44 00 33, on WhatsApp, and on Facebook.

Agree the price before the day, not on it. These are individual operators rather than firms with a tariff, so say how many pieces, which floors, whether there is a lift and how far the vehicle can park. A price agreed against that description holds; one agreed against "a few bags" does not.

What to tell them when you call

  • How many suitcases and boxes, roughly, and anything heavy or awkward.
  • Both addresses, and the floor at each end.
  • Whether there is a lift, and how narrow the stairs are.
  • Where a van can actually stop — in central Brussels this is often the deciding factor.
  • Your date, with some flexibility if you have it.

The last weekend of the month is the busy one

Belgian leases overwhelmingly start and end at month boundaries, so everybody moves at once. Book a week or two ahead for those dates, and if you can move mid-month you will find people available and cheaper.

If it is a whole household

Above a van-load, a proper removals company is safer and insured. These contacts are for the in-between move — out of a serviced apartment and into your first real flat, which is the step most people here make in their first three months. See finding a rental home for that sequence, and furnishing your home for free for filling it once you arrive.

These contacts were shared with this community in 2024 and are published with their agreement. Availability and prices change, and we cannot vouch for any individual — always confirm the price when you call. For current recommendations, ask in the Namaste Community app.
