Namaste for Business: your listing, your offers and your events, from a laptop
Business owners can now run everything on Namaste from the web β list the business, post offers from a photo of the flyer, add events, and see how many people are finding them.
Until now, everything a business did on Namaste happened inside the app, on a phone. That is fine for posting a question. It is not how anybody runs a shop. The menu is on the laptop at the counter, the flyer for Saturday is a PDF somebody emailed, and the owner has a till to watch while they type.
So there is now a place built for that: namaste.community/biz. We call it Namaste for Business. It uses the same account as the app β the same email and password, or Google, or Apple β so an owner who is already on Namaste simply signs in.
π§° What you can do there
Your business
List it, keep its hours and details current, and see its reviews. Run more than one shop? Add each of them from the same account.
Offers
A deal with a βvalid fromβ and a βvalid untilβ date. It shows on your business page and in the Events tab of the app for as long as it runs, then steps aside on its own.
Events
A tasting evening, a Diwali special, a cookery class. Members nearby see it in the app and can RSVP.
Performance
How many people viewed your business, your offers and your events β and how many went on to ask for your contact details.
π· Start from a photo
Most offers already exist as a picture: a flyer in the window, a board by the door, a post you made somewhere else. So instead of retyping it, you can hand the photo to the assistant in the portal. It reads the flyer and fills in a draft β the title, the dates, the price, the details.
It only ever proposes. What comes back is an ordinary form with the fields already filled in, and every one of them is yours to change. Nothing is sent anywhere until you have checked it, ticked the box confirming the information may be published, and pressed submit. If you would rather type, the same forms are one button away.
A person looks at everything first
Getting started
- 1
Sign in, or create an account
Already on Namaste? Sign in with the account you use in the app. New here? Create one β it takes a minute, and you do not need the app to do it. - 2
Verify your phone
One text message. Until then you can draft as much as you like, but nothing goes to the team for review β it keeps the directory to businesses with a real person at the end of a number. - 3
Add your business
From a photo or from the form. You will see it marked as in review, and hear from us once it is live. - 4
Post your first offer
Once the listing is approved, a photo of your flyer is enough to start one.
π What the numbers do β and donβt β tell you
The Performance page counts views of your business, and separately of each offer and event, over the last few days or all time. Next to them sit the two numbers that matter more: how many people asked for your contact details, and how many left an enquiry.
Counts, never names
Tell us what is missing
This is the first version, and the people it is for are the ones who know what it still gets wrong. Inside the portal, Something wrong? Tell us reaches a person, and so does WhatsApp. If the assistant misreads your flyer, or a form asks for something your business simply does not have, that is exactly what we want to hear.
And if you know a shop, a restaurant or a tailor that should be on Namaste β send them namaste.community/biz.
